East Manchester boasts 27 schools throughout the area and from 2009 will have its own state-of-the-art high school.

High Schools located just outside the east Manchester area are also benefiting from the regeneration of New East Manchester. St Peters Roman Catholic High School, Longsight, has recently been rebuilt, Cedar Mount in Gorton will become the feature of an education village and Wright Robinson Sports College will be rebuilt with state-of-the-art facilities.

This investment in schools has led to the building of two new primary schools in Clayton and Beswick with more to follow.
